Christina Stathopoulos, Founder and Head Coach of Hear Her Roar

Every day, women face situations that require using negotiation skills as a way to get things done in the workplace -- resolving conflicts, reaching agreements, earning raises, etc. Focusing exclusively on the issue, however, can lead to long, drawn-out conversations with less than fruitful results. This presentation offers a practical approach to deal with both the issues and the interpersonal dynamics that can prevent people from getting to yes.

    Learn how to:

    • Recognize the two components of negotiation -- the substance and the connection.
    • Identify ways you may be getting in your own way before negotiation even begins.
    • Plan a strategy to negotiate in a way that is personally authentic.

    Christina Stathopoulos

Christina Stathopoulos is the Founder and Head Coach of Hear Her Roar. She is an Associate Certified Coach (International Coaching Federation) and an Accomplishment Coaching- Certified Coach.

Christina specializes in working with high-performing women who are ready to create more success in their lives by doing less work, and she partners with these women in developing bold voices and perfecting the work/life balance.

Christina's pursuit of playing powerfully began at Mount Holyoke College, where she earned degrees in both English and chemistry.  In addition to her private practice, Christina serves the next generation of leaders as a Mentor Coach of Accomplishment Coaching's Coach & Leadership Training Program.

Learn the key ingredient to successful collaboration

Whether we are leading a team or just participating as a member, teamwork is a fundamental part of how we get things done. Some teams work together beautifully and deliver impressive results.  Others struggle to achieve their goals and experience frustration or even conflict. Have you ever wondered what makes some teams more successful than others?

Google spent three years and millions of dollars to try to determine what made some of their internal teams perform better than others. What Google found may surprise you.  It’s a concept called psychological safety.

In this interactive presentation, we will learn about psychological safety and answer these questions:

    ·       How do you know if a team you’re on (or you lead) has psychological safety?

    ·       What can you do to help make your teams more effective—whether you are the leader or a participant?

Sue Matson, the presenter, is a certified Master Coach affiliated with the Marshall Goldsmith Group and works with senior executives, teams, and high-potential emerging leaders across many industries and functional areas.

Her coaching experience includes such areas as Executive leadership development and presence, coaching female Senior Leaders, coaching in a context of strategic or organizational change, and coaching teams for greater effectiveness and alignment.

Sue began her career at Leo Burnett Advertising, rising to VP/Account Director, responsible for directing agency operations and client relationships for several large clients.  She then co-founded and led a strategy consulting firm before moving on to her current role as Executive Coach.

She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from the University of Notre Dame. Sue has lived in Maine for five years. She currently resides in Bath with her husband, Brad, an executive at L.L. Bean.

Registration deadline is Friday, November 3

Kristen Miale, President of Good Shepherd Food Bank

Our featured speaker has had the opportunity to build her tool box in both the for-profit and non-profit worlds. After over a decade in the private equity and business consulting fields and following the depths of the 2008 financial crisis, Kristen began volunteering at hunger relief organizations in her community. And thus began her work with food security.

Join us to learn how Kristen changed and grew her career path by following her passion; building her skills, knowledge, and network of support; and taking advantage of new opportunities.

We will be conducting a virtual food drive at this event to benefit GSFB. For every dollar we raise, GSFB is able to provide four meals or 50 pounds of food! With your donation to the virtual food drive, GSFB can purchase the food that's really needed, and all you have to bring is your generosity and your checkbook!

    Kristen Miale

Kristen Miale is the President of Good Shepherd Food Bank (GSFB), Maine's largest hunger relief organization. GSFB works with a network of 400 non-profit organizations to distribute 25 million pounds of food a year throughout the state to people in need.

Before her role as President of GSFB, Kristen was the founder and program director of Cooking Matters Maine, a local chapter of Share Our Strength's nationally recognized cooking and nutrition education program for low-income families. Prior to her work with food security, she worked for over a decade in the private equity and business consulting fields. After volunteering for hunger relief organizations, she decided to make her passion for ending hunger her occupation.

Kristen received her undergraduate degree from Boston College and her Masters in Business Administration from Boston University, where she studied both entrepreneurship and non-profit management. Kristen has served as a board member and treasurer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine and is on the board of the Cumberland County Extension Association.
