CHAPTER NEWS
Exclusive!  Midcoast Maine Women’s Network Weekend in New York City

Enjoy New York including  the Metropolitan Museum, a Broadway show, hotel accommodations, and flight to and from Portland, Maine.

Erica Harriman of the Midcoast chapter is working with Gayle Hichborn of the Greater Portland chapter  (www.allabouthoneymoons.com) to put together this special outing to New York City for us. Take a look at the options below and follow up with Erica. Either one sounds like fun!

Option 1  $779 per person based on double occupancy with shuttle to hotel from airport, Museum ticket, Broadway show ticket, and flight – lodging : Marriot Marquis, Time Square.

Option 2  $587 per person based on double occupancy with shuttle to hotel from airport, Museum ticket, Broadway show ticket, and flight–lodging Radisson Martinique, Broadway.
 

Contact Erica Harriman if you are interested in this trip.  In addition to choosing which hotel to stay in, we are trying to choose between a May weekend or an October weekend.  Please voice your preferred options when responding.

Buzzie Bee Diapers
Donations Needed to Support Doctors Without Borders Hospital in Haiti


Buzzie Bee Diapers is collecting new and gently used newborn onesies, socks, and hats to be sent to Haiti.  “We’re delighted at the response from our customers and have opened the collection up to the greater community,” says Buzzie Bee owner, Jennifer Temple.

To make a donation, contact Jennifer Temple at 542-0505 or info@buzziebee.com. Pick up is available along Buzzie Bee’s delivery route. Donations may also be dropped off at Buzzie Bee Diapers in Rockland.

Janet Redfield Stained Glass
Janet Redfield Stained Glass On View In Waterboro

 
Stained glass artist, Janet Redfield, of Lincolnville created 22 windows for the new Massabesic Middle School in Waterboro, Maine as part of Maine's Percent for Art program. The installation included windows in the cafeteria depicting a timeline starting with life 4 million years ago in the Paleozoic sea of southern Maine  to the present.

Platform Shoes Programs for Teen Girls Provide Ways for Us to Get Involved

March Madness
Zoey's Room Sign-Up Marathon takes place at the YMCA in Rockport and throughout Maine
until the end of the month. The YMCA who signs up the most girls wins a $500 cash prize.
Zoey's Room is a model online education program developed by Platform Shoes Forum to
teach 10 to14-year-old girls about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

April  Events
April 7: Tec-KNOW Conference coming up on April 7. The Maine Women's Network in addition to sponsors and collaborators KeyBank, Time Warner Cable, and Hardy Girls Healthy Women are awarding scholarships and Zoey's Room memberships.

Also coming up in April, Platform Shoes Forum  in partnership with Key Bank celebrates "Take Your Daughter To Work Day" for another sign-up marathon.

Midori Concert Benefit for Next Generation Music Program

Bay Chamber Concerts is celebrating the accomplishments of an amazing woman, Irene Wolf, with a luncheon and concert by another amazing woman, international superstar violinist Midori.  All proceeds directly benefit local young people who participate in Bay Chamber's many educational programs, such as student concerts, masterclasses, the Odeon Youth Orchestra, and the Next Generation Chamber Music Program.
