Connecting Women From Kittery to Fort Kent

UMA Annual Leadership Conference, March 29th

    On March 29, 2014 at the University of Maine Augusta campus, the Student
    Government Association will host it's annual Leadership Conference.  This
    years' leadership conference is geared towards people of all ages.

    The conference is located in the Randall Student Center's Fireside Lounge
    and Dr. Clint Steele of Pay It Forward x
    1,000,000 will
    kick off the conference with a talk entitled, "How to Lead by Example
    Through Community Service."

    Following a brief break, Laura Benedict of The Red Barn Cares
    Foundation will
    speak about starting a foundation to help people.  She will share her story
    and inspiration to help the local community.

    Following lunch, Stacey Jacobson of Time Initiative of Maine will speak of community service through the structure of a time bank and the many opportunities that arise to lead by example.

    Valerie Marsh with the UMA Office of Civic Engagement will speak of ways to engage the community with the civic process.

    Finally, Dr. Clint Steele will wrap up the day with a discussion:  "How to
    Be an Effective Leader by Example."

    The cost of attending is $15.00 per person which includes lunch and a 2014
    Leadership conference t-shirt (UMA students are free with active UMA
    student ID).
