    FAMILY AND FRIENDS, COMMUNITY MEMBERS

Auburn cordially invites You to our community for

Decoration Day May 25.  Ceremony on Monday, at 1pm in Oak Hill Cemetery followed by an Open House from 2-4pm at Auburn’sCentral Fire Station On this Memorial Day we come as we remember, honor, and provide our deepest respect for all service members who have given their lives for our freedoms.  These lives are commemorated. This All-American holiday has its roots in the practice of women, decorating the graves of their loved ones who died in the Civil War.  It was originally called “Decoration Day”.  Thus is the founding of Memorial Day.  On Monday, there will be testimonies of devotions, pride and remembrance to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life, not death of our fallen heroes.   The Open House is a time that we rededicate ourselves to our country and to America’s living veterans and their families in memory of the sacrifices they and others have made.  We must vow that our veterans be treated with the dignity and respect they so richly deserve.
